Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration Planning

After an oil spill, federal agencies study the effects through the Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) process, identifying the injury to natural resources and lost public uses, best methods for restoration, and amount of restoration required. EPA was designated as a trustee for the Deepwater Horizon (DWH) oil spill Natural Resource Damage Assessment under Executive Order 13626.
