Recreational: Water Quality Criteria Archive Meetings
EPA has conducted two multi-stakeholder meeting in 2008 and 2009 and a stakeholder meeting via the web in October 2010 to provide a forum for interested stakeholders to provide input and to bring issues to EPA on the development of new or revised recreational water quality criteria.
February 2008 Multi-Stakeholder Meeting. On February 20, 2008, EPA held the "Multi-Stakeholder Engagement on New/Revised Recreational Water Quality Criteria", where EPA:
- Updated stakeholders on activities since the December 2006 Multi-stakeholder meeting (PDF) (10 pp, 194K);
- Provided an overview of and clarifications to (PDF) (7 pp, 166K) EPA's Critical Path Science Plan;
- Reported on Critical Path Science Plan progress (PDF) (5 pp, 25K);
- Provided stakeholders with an introduction to Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment (PDF) (17 pp, 470K).
- Received stakeholder input on:
- research directions for inland waters (PDF) (8 pp, 138K);
- desired attributes of new criteria (PDF) (7 pp, 18K); and
- how best to engage stakeholders during Critical Path Science Plan implementation and criteria development through 2012.
Also provided are the meeting highlights, including a list of select questions and answers from input sessions (PDF) (6 pp, 38K).
October 2009 Multi-Stakeholder Meeting. On October 6-7, 2009, EPA held the “Stakeholder Meeting on EPA’s Development of New or Revised Recreational Water Quality Criteria”, where the following sessions were presented:

October 2010 Stakeholder Webinar. On October 12, 2010, EPA conducted its 2010 Recreational Water Quality Criteria Stakeholder Meeting via the web. The webinar provided stakeholders with an update on the following topics:
