Economic Impacts of Aquatic Invasive Species Workshop

EPA's Office of Water and Office of Policy, Economics and Innovation hosted a workshop on the economics of invasive species in the United States. Workshop participants expressed individual views on potential conceptual frameworks and bioeconomic tools for use in the subsequent development of national and regional estimates of the market and non-market economic impacts of aquatic invasive species (AIS). Attendees included invasion ecologists, natural resource economists, and program managers from Federal agencies dealing with AIS issues.
Workshop Goal
The goal of this Workshop was to obtain Workshop participants' individual views on potential conceptual frameworks and bioeconomic tools for use in the subsequent development of national and regional estimates of the market and non-market economic impacts of aquatic invasive species.
