Course Description: Water and Wastewater Owners & Operators – As Part of the 2013 Tribal Utility Summit - Join us at the Sustainable Management of Rural and Small Systems Workshop!
In April 2013, a workshop dedicated to small water and wastewater utility management will be held in Nashville, TN. The United South & Eastern Tribes (USET) has partnered with the US EPA, USDA, and the Indian Health Service (IHS) to present this workshop to highlight small system management concerns and to provide a valuable opportunity for improving small system operations.
At the workshop you will:
- Learn about key areas of management effectiveness;
- Conduct a guided self assessment of your utility's management strengths and weaknesses;
- Consider practices, tools, and measures for improving utility performance; and
- Provide feedback to USDA and EPA about how they can better support management performance at small systems.
The workshop will equip you with the ability to identify management improvement opportunities at your utility, understand how approach the improvements, and provide a basis for working effectively with your staff and community to bring about priority management improvements. The workshop is a component of the 2013 Tribal Utility Summit sponsored by USET, IHS, and EPA.
Please note that this workshop is one full day in length. This year, participants are encouraged to attend the entire session to be eligible for continuing education units (CEU's). The 2013 Tribal Utility Summit will be running from April 9 through April 11, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
URL: Pending, but will be posted on USET's website at www.usetinc.org or at http://www.usetinc.org/EventRegistrationContainer/EventRegistration.aspx?EventID=55.
