Purpose
This workshop was designed for programs seeking eligibility under CWA Section 319 (Nonpoint Source (NPS) Control Program) and for those that wanted to address NPS issues within existing programs. The workshop covered the basics of the watershed-based planning approach and how to integrate it into Tribal NPS management activities.
The workshop included:
- Review of basic water quality concepts and NPS pollution management
- Examples of NPS control best management practices through field trips and site visits
- Development of Tribal NPS Assessment Reports and Management Plans
- Meeting eligibility requirements to apply for CWA Section 319 funding
- Base grants and competitive grants process, general NPS work projects
- Face-to-face networking time with tribal, federal, and state agency partners
