The Partnership for Safe Water unites EPA, American Water Works Association, Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies, National Association of Water Companies, and Association of State Drinking Water Administrators in assisting water suppliers to voluntarily enhance their systems' performance for greater control of microbial contaminants.

Sustainable Water Leadership Program

EPA has redesigned its long-standing Clean Water Act (CWA) Recognition Awards program.  The new Sustainable Water Leadership Program (SWLP) expands the previous awards, which recognized leaders in many facets of the wastewater industry, to include drinking water facilities as well as managed decentralized systems and municipal stormwater systems.

WaterSense is an EPA-sponsored partnership program that seeks to protect the future of our nation's water supply by promoting water efficiency and enhancing the market for water-efficient products, programs, and practices.  Each year, the WaterSense Program recognizes the exceptional efforts of its partners’ in promoting WaterSense.
